I
guess it's been awhile since there's been an entry. We feel like so
little has happened, yet so much! Emily's weight is on track, thanks
to Polly's heroic nursing work. Emily loves Mommy's milk so much,
she now refuses the bottle, which is a bummer for Daddy. Emily celebrated
her first month birthday too! She celebrated by pooping a little,
eating a little, puking a little, crying a little and sleeping a little.
A couple of more visits to the doctor, the first to find out that
Emily has acid reflux. Poor baby, she is so uncomfortable, but she'll
grow out of it. In the meantime, she's on baby Zantac, which tastes
nasty because each dose really gets her going. Another visit to the
doctor for a vaccine shot - right in the thigh, yikes. She didn't
like that much either, and she let us know for the entire car ride
home. Polly is recovering nicely, but not quite there. She is such
a great Mom, she's always doing something with Emily. Which is why
very recently, I've noticed that Emily really prefers being in Mommy's
arms over mine. That sucks:) But I guess that's natural. She has her
fussy days, which takes its toll on both of us. Emily even scored
a TKO one day on Mommy, then on Daddy later that day. We both zonked
out. But of course she still is the most adorable, lovable baby on
earth to us. Every weekend is yet another trip to Target. The bouncy
seat, the swing, the mobiles, the rattles, the diapers, it never stops.
For all your investors out there, go long on Target - we're giving
them a big quarter. Emily loves her baths and being outside - we hope
it stays that way forever. And her new favorite place in the house?
Sleeping in her carseat on top of the spinning dryer - luckily, we
always have clothes to wash and dry. It's like a miracle, it knocks
her out almost every time - maybe it's the fabric softener scent .
. . ? Now at 5 weeks, Emily is looking more and more like a little
girl - she smiles, mostly in her sleep, but when she does, it melts
your heart. |
